It’s that time again, with spring around the corner, it means seasonal allergies are on their way. Don’t fret, we have 5 tips to help you lessen the effect of seasonal allergies for you and your children.
Watch your diet
Studies have shown a diet rich in fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds and even green tea can lessen allergy symptoms in you and your children. If your bodies are running on natural fuels, it will be easier for them to battle allergens.
Be Diligent with Medications
Your children’s allergy medication does no good if it stays in the cabinet. Make sure your children are taking their medication with the correct dosage and at the right time during the day. In addition, consult with your Pediatric Care Group pediatrician for the best possible medication for your children’s allergies.
Hop in the shower
Pollen collects on bodies and hair throughout the day whilst we are outside. In order to promote a restful sleep, encourage your children to hop in the shower and remove all the pollen that has gathered.
No Shoes, No Problem!
Once you and your little ones get inside your home, lose your shoes! Our shoes pick up allergens outside and once we wear them inside, we will track these allergens throughout the house.
Shut the windows and doors
Everyone loves a nice spring breeze. However, shutting the doors and windows is the best option to avoid allergies. With open windows and doors come pollen and allergens.
