Chronic Conditions

At Pediatric Care Group, our providers work closely with parents and caregivers, ensuring age-appropriate care for their children, explaining diagnoses and answering questions. Chronic conditions such as asthma, ADHD and special needs require careful attention to ensure that these conditions are properly managed.

Asthma

Asthma is a common chronic disease that must be monitored and managed to maintain proper health. Asthma causes the airways to swell and get narrow which can lead to wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing. In addition to treatment and education, Pediatric Care Group provides our patients with an individualized, written action plan to assist with the management of asthma. The asthma action plan serves as a guide for patients to determine when to increase treatment, how to increase treatment, for how long and when to seek medical attention.

ADHD

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, better known as ADHD, is a disorder that affects millions of children. It is a developmental disorder that causes children to be overly rambunctious, hyperactive, and distracted. Children with ADHD have difficulty focusing, staying on task, and being organized. This can adversely impact a child’s learning and education, as well as peer and family relationships. Appropriate diagnosis and treatment is essential for effective management. Pediatric Care Group’s providers carefully consider various treatment options to determine how to best manage a patient’s condition. We are committed to providing education and support to children diagnosed with ADHD and their families.

Special Needs

Pediatric Care Group is dedicated to caring for children with special needs in a compassionate and friendly office setting. We strongly believe that all children deserve excellent healthcare to maintain proper physical, mental, and social health. Our providers understand the importance of early and proper diagnosis of genetic disorders, learning disabilities, and developmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder.
